When ‘Talk Later’ Actually Meant… Five Minutes Later

One day, Li messaged his boss: “Can we have a quick chat about the new project?”
The boss replied instantly: “Sure. Let’s talk later.”

Li relaxed. He thought it was the polite corporate way of saying “Not now, maybe never.”
So he went to the break room to make himself a cup of coffee.

Three minutes later, the boss appeared behind him:
“Let’s talk now.”

Li: Coffee half-made, composure fully lost.
Since then, “Let’s talk later” in our office has been redefined as: “Come to my desk immediately.”
